Industry 4.0: A concept of smart factory

Industry 4.0  is an evolved technological revolution that enables connectivity, automation, machine learning, and real-time data. It is also known as IIoT or smart manufacturing, physical production, and operations with smart digital technology, machine learning which ensures better connectivity for companies that are manufactures as well as supply chain management. In recent times, every industry needs to be updated in real time to get insights across processes, partners, products, and people.

The concept behind this evolution is to make the processing more efficient and faster. Technology led development is the need of the hour where time is less and demand is more. People need to get connected across the world for business or education purposes.

It has made connectivity among people and industries of different areas the most convenient. The machines are automated and have web connectivity. Machines can talk and make decisions on their own accordingly. One can easily get connected and communicate over the Internet of Things(IoT). Technological evolution is taking place in the industry for decades and continuously taking shape according to the needs of the hour. Earlier, industries were more focused on labour-intensive work rather than using machines. Steam engines were used instead of electrical engines. After this, electricity made factories more efficient and mobile. The technology was continuously evolving and led to the urgency of electronic tools and computer technologies into the processing. But, by the introduction Industry 4.0, the most advanced form of technology which focuses on digital processing and takes the industry on a leap to a whole new level of connectivity through the IoT, real-time data and so on.

All the processes included in manufacturing like smart automation reduces the total machine downtime and cost by almost 20 per cent. Automated solutions and other smart technologies used nowadays are cost efficient as they take less time and give more output.

Smart technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are playing a vital role in giving real-time experience in no time in the virtual world. This kind of smart technology is enabling users across the world to experience they had never before. Virtual Reality let consumers enter a virtual world and interact with virtual products. Whether it is gaming or product experience, not a single industry is far away from it.

Industry 4.0 is the fourth evolution in technological world and industry has come a long way regarding the development in the area of machines and working efficiency. It has taken a leap in recent years, and it is making the growth in every sector day by day.
